Tinnitus is the ringing, buzzing, roaring or hissing sound heard inside one or both ears. I am talking about the type of noise that you pray will end because you are losing your mind. According to the information I have found, Tinnitus is a result of our brains attempting to "reconfigure" themselves when our ear has become damaged, resulting in that "drive me insane" sound.
Sufferers of tinnitus can experience a wide range of noise creating a minor annoyance to debilitating pain depending on its severity. I am frequently affected by pain and a low ring that seems endless.. when it is at it's worst, I have a load roaring that drowns out any other type of sound. I frequently cover or put my finger inside my ear, hoping that something I do will stop the sound from beating at my brain. Of course, none of this works to alleviate the sound. Many people experience tinnitus even while sleeping, thus not receiving a good nights rest.
Causes
Menieres Disease, Excessive build up of ear wax (always be careful when cleaning your ears. It is possible to cause deafness from cleaning your ears to deeply and damaging the ear drum) Ear infections, Head injuries, Otoschlerosis, Poor Circulation and High Blood Pressure.
Treatments
There isn't "a cure" but there are a few things you can do to help minimize your symptoms. Remember, I am not a Physician, always consult your medical professional before trying any of these suggestions. I am sure my list is not complete, make sure to research this information yourself to find all possible avenues of treatment.
Vitamins A and C, Bioflavonoids, Magnesium, Potassium (Be very careful with your intake of Potassium, to much or to little potassium in your system can cause you to become seriously ill) Ginkgo biloba and Hawthorn
